Like many other modern artists Marini places great importance on the myth as a revelation of truth and like the artists of antiquity he seeks to create a universal symbol of reality through idealised form. The author of this book pays special tribute to Liberto Perugi, the photographer responsible for this illustrations depicted here, which he says have been of greater value and assistance to him in the understanding of Marini's sculpture than he can express.
